Hello
Stranger
Hello Stranger is a coffee shop and event space dedicated to authentic connection.
Inspired by yoga practice, travel, and driven by themes of gratitude, Hello Stranger aims to give back to their local community in every way possible.
They seek to create not only third spaces for connection, but a new home - where others feel encouraged to reach out of their comfort zone and hear the story of another.
2022
For their branding guide, I began with moodboarding. Hello Stranger called for deeply grounded colors and typography - elements that show the brand is connected to the earth and all the people who live on it.
The spark of yellow signifies that first moment of new growth and connection - the first sprig on a tree, the first blossom of spring.
The greens tie back to the idea of peace, and the uniting symbol of the olive branch.
The brown reminds viewers of dirt and earth connection - grounding as well as the grounds of the coffee brewed.
From beginning to end, Hello Stranger is a brand united by groundedness, human connection, and a deep personal sense of meaning.
The main heading type is hand done, aiming to remind viewers of notes scribbled by loved ones.
A simple sans serif ties it all together, showing unity and ease of readability.
I began with high quality wireframes in Figma, taking inspiration from other cafe sites and menus sourced from Pinterest. I created the logo lockup and main heading font in Procreate.
